DC Investment

The choice of investments is crucial to the delivery of a reasonable level of retirement income for members of a DC pension scheme. Trustees should do all they can to ensure that members are presented with an appropriate range of investment options, suitably communicated. LCP assists Trustees of DC arrangements to do this in several ways.

We have developed investment strategies that can be used as default options for members who do not wish to make their own investment decisions, which is the majority in most DC schemes. These include our innovative “DCisive” approach, which aims to reduce the chance of members retiring with a pension significantly below a reasonable expectation, by altering the investment profile in response to market movements.

We have also developed an interactive communication tool, “DCoder”. This enables individual members of DC schemes to understand the likely effect of various investment strategies on their eventual retirement income, which helps them to make an informed choice of the most suitable investment strategy to adopt for their own particular circumstances.
