Martin Haugh

Martin Haugh Martin is a founding director of HLD. He qualified as an actuary in 1996 and in 2001 founded HLD. He holds a scheme actuary certificate.

Martin worked for many years in the UK before retuning to Ireland with HLD. Martin specialises in providing advice to clients on a variety of benefits issues in particular scheme design, pension scheme investment and corporate transactions. Martin is currently a member of the Pensions Committee of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and chairman of the Valuations Committee.

Outside of the office, Martin enjoys playing golf.

Conor Daly

Conor Daly Conor is an expert on the ever changing landscape of Irish employee benefits and pensions. He qualified as an actuary in 1999 and founded HLD in 2001.

Conor provides advice on all aspects of pension provision and is particularly interested in the accounting issues surrounding pension schemes. Conor is an active member of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and is a past chairman of the committee examining the impact of accounting standards on employers' finances.

Conor has an active social life and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.

John Lynch

John Lynch John started his career in the UK where he qualified in 1997. He founded HLD in 2001. John holds a PRSA Actuary certificate and a Scheme Actuary Certificate. John is an active member of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and is currently a member of the Society's PRSA committee.

John provides advice to a number of clients on the provision of their PRSA products. John is also an expert on disclosure requirements and is currently working with clients on the implications of recently introduced disclosure legislation.

John has two young boys who take up most of his time outside the office.

Declan Lavelle

Declan Lavelle Declan joined HLD in 2004 with 14 years experience in the insurance industry, mainly in non-life insurance. He qualified as an actuary in 1998 and is a member of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland's non-life Solvency II sub-committee an area in which he is a recognised expert.

Declan specialises in non-life insurance with experience in reserving, pricing, financial modelling and business intelligence. He has also advised outside the traditional actuarial fields, in particular in the valuation of employee share option schemes.

When not at his desk, Declan's two young daughters keep him as busy as possible!
