Trustee Training Service
The Pensions Act 1990 and subsequent changes have made trustee responsibilities considerably more
onerous. Complex legislation together with the Pensions Board, a powerful and proactive regulator
continue to make the role of being a pension trustee ever more challenging.
The Pensions Board has confirmed that from 1st February 2010, all pension scheme trustees must
undertake training at least every two years.
LCP Ireland offers a range of trustee training services to enable you to carry out your duties
and responsibilities as a trustee of an Irish pension scheme.

The Pensions Board has published a detailed list of what trustees must know and understand.
The technical details will challenge even those who have acted as a trustee for many years.
Lane Clark & Peacock Ireland runs regular courses (open to trustees of all
schemes) that are designed to cover all aspects of the “Trustee Handbook”,
produced by the Pensions Board. We can also offer bespoke training to groups of
trustees focusing on particular aspects of trustee roles.
Our general courses are split into Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution training courses.
Both cover all the material necessary for trustees to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of
the pensions environment in Ireland in a focused one day session.
Groups are kept small and an important element of the course is a series of case studies on a
selection of current pension topics such as investment issues and whistle blowing.rustee training courses are held in high quality hotels in Dublin (and other areas where numbers
allow) and include all refreshments, parking and importantly, the opportunity to meet and converse
with trustees of other pension schemes.
We are now taking bookings for our 2010 courses. Please
register your interest for more information.
