Career opportunities with LCP, a leading consultancy and analytics firm

About LCP Ireland
LCP is a multi-award-winning, partner-owned and managed, actuarial and analytics consultancy providing advice on pensions, investments, employee benefits, health, energy, and insurance. Having grown significantly over several years, our Irish office is now 40+ people strong, with the support of over 1,000 colleagues across the Irish Sea. We continue to grow, and to develop new business areas and revenue streams to complement our already high standing in traditional lines of work.
Career opportunities across our firm
We are looking for driven and motivated graduates and young professionals to join our tight-knit and experienced Dublin consulting teams. As a valued member of the team, you will make an important contribution to some of Ireland’s largest institutions, including defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes and insurance companies.
Our core service offerings and teams include:
- Actuarial services – Our actuarial team helps our clients to assess and measure their liabilities and ensure that they know how much money they need to set aside today to meet their future financial promises. This includes acting as “Scheme Actuary” for defined benefit pension schemes or “PRSA Actuary” for a range of life insurance companies.
- Investment – As investment advisors, we help institutional investors to decide how and where to invest their money. This requires an in-depth understanding of economics and financial markets, as well as the unique needs of our clients around risk, liquidity and environmental, social and governance (‘ESG’) considerations.
- Pensions Management & Defined Contribution consulting – Our Pensions Management team works with some of the largest pension schemes in Ireland to help them deliver their strategies, while ensuring good governance and staying compliant with the legislation. Our Defined Contribution Consulting Practice provides market leading advice and insights to a range of employers and pension schemes in a very dynamic market.
- Risk Management – Risk Management is at the core of financial services regulation and our Risk Management Team help our clients to manage and mitigate the wide range of risks that they face. This requires a broad understanding of risk and examines areas from investment (what happens to my scheme if there is an equity market crash?) through to cyber security and data (how is my data protected in the event of a ransomware attack?).
A key part of our service offering is our advanced range of in-house technology, which allows our clients to manage their arrangements effectively and understand their finances in real-time. We firmly believe in empowering our clients to make better decisions through the use of market-leading technology, a sample of which is shown below:

Key responsibilities
On day one, you can expect to work collaboratively with all members of the team to support the different types of work that we provide to our clients. Ultimately, we will want you to grow and develop over the coming years into a skilled consultant – an experienced professional who can help our clients navigate their unique circumstances and challenges and make informed decisions that meet their objectives.
From day one and over the coming years, you can expect to be:
- Drafting client research notes and meeting papers – we continuously provide written advice to our clients in response to their evolving needs. You can expect hands-on experience preparing these notes in conjunction with your senior colleagues.
- Performing and understanding complex calculations – we are a technical bunch, and all areas of work require a strong understanding of maths and statistics. While some areas involve more number crunching than others (such as actuarial and investment), all business areas will require a conceptual understanding of things such as compound interest and time value of money.
- Attending client meetings – we regularly attend meetings with our clients to discuss our reports and provide pro-active advice. As you settle into your new role, you can expect to join your senior colleagues at client meetings and gain valuable experience presenting.
- Progressing toward a professional qualification – LCP is committed to developing your skills, both technical skills and softer skills (such as communication and presentation). We are proud to have a diverse range of professional qualifications among our team members, including FSAI (Society of Actuaries), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CDir (Chartered Company Director), QFA (Qualified Financial Advisor), and will encourage and support all colleagues to pursue a relevant professional qualification with a competitive study package.
