Dr Jonathan Pearson-Stuttard

Partner & Head of LCP Health

I am Head of LCP Health at Lane Clark & Peacock (LCP), and a Public Health Physician and Epidemiologist. I also sit on the LCP LLP Board. I established LCP Health and now lead its multidisciplinary, multinational team working across health economics, real-world evidence and market access, using data, analytics and technology to support better decision-making across health systems and life sciences.

Three themes run through my work:

  • cardiometabolic health and multimorbidity, building on my PhD in type 2 diabetes epidemiology;
  • health inequalities; and
  • articulating and quantifying the economic and fiscal value of better health and prevention.

My work focuses on translating evidence into action — identifying unmet health need, understanding its drivers and consequences, and demonstrating the wider value of interventions that improve health and prevent disease.

I am a Public Health Consultant at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, where I established and Chaired the Health Inequalities Programme Board, and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. I am also former Chair of the Royal Society for Public Health.

I was Editor-in-Chief of the Chief Medical Officer’s 2018 report Health 2040 – Better Health Within Reach, which recommended development of a composite Health Index, subsequently published by the Office for National Statistics. I also co-authored Whose Health Is It, Anyway? with Dame Sally Davies, which makes the case for shifting health systems from importers of illness to exporters of health.
