Laura Hobern

Partner

I enjoy working closely with clients to advise on a broad range of actuarial and risk matters. Having previously worked directly for (re)insurers, I bring a wide-ranging perspective spanning reserving, pricing, capital, mergers and acquisitions due diligence, risk management, validation, Part VII transfers, IFRS 17, portfolio analysis and management reporting.

I have led projects across personal and commercial lines, as well as within the Lloyd’s market, and hold both a Lloyd’s Syndicate Actuary practising certificate and a Chief Actuary (Non-Life with Lloyd’s) practising certificate.

I am particularly interested in enhancing the value actuaries deliver to the business, through pricing strategy, portfolio analytics, and improvements to reserving processes.

Beyond client work, I serve as Deputy Chair of the London Market Actuaries’ Group (LMAG) and as the DEI representative on the IFoA’s General Insurance Practice Board. I also volunteer with several charities focused on improving social mobility.

Every piece of communication we have received from the LCP team has been phenomenally clear. They provide firm recommendations and as a client I couldn't have asked for more.
